Our history

connecting our community through dance

As Singapore’s first dance marathon event, “We Will Dance” was founded in 2013 on the premise of promoting dance and working out for charity. ‘We Will Dance’ encourages Singaporeans to step out of their daily routines and challenge themselves to take up dancing for an extraordinary cause.

As students of the NUS University Scholars Programme (USP), the organising committees of “We Will Dance” believe that educational opportunities should be made available and accessible to all who have the desire to learn.

“We Will Dance” has since supported students with financial constraints in both the USP and beyond.

In total, “We Will Dance” has engaged over 1’600 dance participants, and raised over $67’000 for community partners. We have received immense support from our corporate partners – Chang Cheng Group Pte Ltd, Ichi Seiki, Koufu, myCK, and Young NTUC. Funds raised were donated to the USP Student Assistance Fund, Care Corner Family Service Centre (Queenstown), SPD (Society for the Physically Disabled), Autism Association (Singapore), and Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics. This year, “We Will Dance” continues to support more beneficiaries on their journey to create more educational opportunities.
